Marc Chinard, LCSW
Trauma, stress, and anxiety harm us. In response we disconnect from our partners, families, and communities. Our future and our identity are stolen from us.
A joyful life filled with hope and meaning can feel out of reach. This is especially true for people in the helping professions - physicians, nurses, counselors, mental health workers, teachers, first responders and others - where rapidly increasing expectations and demands from the job often outpace our resilience and ability to effectively cope and change. These jobs and roles expose us to trauma. Left untreated these experiences and trauma do real damage to our self - or our identity - and our relationships and connections.
But we can and do heal from the experiences and the trauma. It starts with hope and together we can awaken and reawaken the hope that will support your recovery.
Recovery is a journey of reconnecting that rebuilds and strengthens our resilience. Recovery enhances our ability to live a more joyful and whole life. My approach is recovery centered and strength based. I have been trained in and use therapeutic modalities of evidenced based practices that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I have had the honor and privilege of working with people to further their behavioral health and recovery for over 30 years. I look forward to working with you on yours.
